Your Guarantee of Spiritual Victory

This teaching continues the series on Ephesians 6:10-22, Stand Strong in the Spiritual Battle. A common misunderstanding about the spiritual battle is that we have to fight hard to gain the victory. The key to victory, however, is not fighting hard; it is faith. The key to victory is faith that God has already given us victory over the enemy in Christ. We are called to "stand," as opposed to taking new territory, because in Christ we have the victory. All that is left to do is stand in faith.

Satan's Surprise Attack: Broken Relationships

"Be angry and do not sin;
do not let the sun go down on your anger,
and give no opportunity to the devil."

Eph 4:26-27

Are you angry with someone right now? Are you having a hard time forgiving?

Have you hurt someone but have not made it right?

If you have broken relationships, then consider this warning from Paul: You are in a dangerous and vulnerable position spiritually!

One of the pieces of armor that God gives us to stand strong in the spiritual battle is "the readiness given by the gospel of peace" (Eph 6:15). How does the gospel of peace prepare us for the battle?

In Eph 2:11-22, Paul explains that the gospel is how we have peace with both God and our fellow humans. Satan's strategy is to distance us from God and others. He wants to destroy our relationships and the peace we can have from the gospel.

This is the third teaching in a series on Eph 6:10-20, Standing Strong in the Spiritual Battle. Listen and discover how we can have and LIVE in peace with God and others through Christ.

This recording is the second in a teaching series on Ephesians 6:10-20: Stand Strong in the Spiritual Battle. In this part, we begin a discussion on the first two pieces of "the armor of God:" the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness.

Our minds are the spiritual battleground. There is a battle for truth taking place in our minds (2 Cor 10:3-5). In this message you can discover how to deal with the thoughts and emotions that draw us away from the Lord.

We can stand strong in the spiritual battle by living in truth.

We can stand strong in the spiritual battle by living in righteousness.

Deacons: Official Church Servants

Our church, Highland Christian Fellowship, is currently in process of selecting deacons. So this teaching on deacons is somewhat of a family discussion. We are a fairly new church and have recently developed a process for selecting deacons as a congregation with the leadership of elders. You may find it helpful to see how we are doing this.
